  • It's been said that China's relationship with the United States will be one of the defining factors of the 21st Century. Relations between the two superpowers have been strained in recent years over a host of issues, including trade, human rights, spying allegations and Taiwan.
With China's National People's Congress underway - the country's foreign minister suggested the United States was trying to 'suppress' his country and stir up trouble in Taiwan. Wang Yi also defended Beijing's close relationship with Moscow.
During much of the Cold War, Soviet Russia and Communist China were at odds. But especially since the start of the Ukraine War, the two authoritarian neighbors have been forging deeper ties - and appear to be positioning themselves as a geopolitical counterweight to the West. For more on this, we talk to Journalist Fabian Kretschmer, who is following the National People's Congress in Beijing.
And we talk to Velina Tchakarova. She's an expert on Sino-Russian relations, and founder of the geopolitical consulting firm FACE.

US is the biggest bully, So to stand up against this Bully you would need create something just as big like adding Russia and China together. US was the one country That started the trade war, it Wanted Global domination in both technology and military power. So the decoupling between China and US is happening bit by bit, both parties are seeking alternatives Such as markets and products. US will Focus on taking over EU Tech companies and force Japan and S Korea to given up their tech sector, US is planning to move everything to US Mainland. At the same time US will fund proxy wars across South east Asia, Such as from Philippines, Vietnam, India and Taiwan in order to hinder and damage China's economy and production capability by any means. But If US become somehow involved in those wars directly would definitely lead to world war 3. According Albert Einstein That World war 3 will restart civilization again, because Ww4 will be fought with stones and sticks.

Even the US knows it, but in the "denial stage" of coming to acceptance. If EU doesn't want to lose the Rest, she must show the gravitas to stand as an equal to the other major powers, ie. Half of russians reserve currency is in gold, and the other half is in yuan. It's why America said China is the biggest threat to the west.
China has russia by the nads and putin knows it. It's why China said they are now hundreds of miles of land larger because they drew maps that takes land that once was russias land.
Russia couldn't win a war against China as they have no domestic chip fabs. It's why russian kinzhal missles are made for Japanese and American products
Russias last new tech was a radar system, where the engineers said it was made in russia, but they were fired when it was found out that all the components of the new radar were made in China and Taiwan, which isn't sustainable.
America just paid in 2020 the equivalent of 1.9 trillion rubles (20 billion USD) for over 4 new chip fabs in the US.
Also Taiwan is partnered with America to make the Taiwan chip fabs crumble under see four if China ever invades. So China will never have access to 2-3nm chips directly

China’s economic growth is plateauing, unemployment is up, investment and exports are down, and internal consumption is still low. China’s massive real estate and construction markets, which make up a quarter of the entire economy, are rapidly deflating. Meanwhile, China’s debt burden is growing and is already much larger than that of the United States. These issues may be structural in nature and require liberalizing reforms that are not likely to be condoned by the Chinese Communist Party under Xi Jinping.
As a result, Russia’s big bet on China to replace the West as an economic partner and save it from sanctions looks increasingly unlikely to pay off.

We in the west pretend we are this liberal democratic society, yet we have become the thing we say we fight against, it is the west that has aliented these 2 countries, and it is only normal that they will develop a relationship.
I feel sorry for Europe who is caught in the middle and is in a servile role towards the US, the blowing up of the gas pipeline, and forcing us to buy gas from US, has not done much for the regular person in EU, on the opposite we today pay the price for this (ask anyone who has to pay gas what is the difference).
And on top of this the media tries to shove down our troats that the sanctions we have put into place are destroying the russian economy, but all we achieved is driving Russia in a better collaboration with China and other eastern countries (think of India here).
So bloody well done EU, keep up the good work, and let's see how our children will live in 30-50 years.

Indeed both China and Russia very much wanted to work with the West. Both countries are more concerned about keeping their homeland in one piece than having a confrontation with the West. But as they grow bigger and stronger, the balance of power gradually shift and that upset the West. It is the US that initiate the process of alienating China and Russia, not the other way around. NATO had reneged on their promise and expanded time and time again before Russia appeared a faintest threat. The US had started anti-WTO trade war against China before it does anything to help Russia in Ukraine. The West is trying to beat the dog and then give it a bad name to justify the act. "What does Putin has to offer China to alienate the US and EU ?" seriously, were you on Mars for the past 20 years?

On February 7, Chouzhou Commercial Bank, the main Chinese bank facilitating Russia’s imports, stopped doing business with Russia. By February 21, three of China’s four largest banks-the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), the China Construction Bank, and the Bank of China-had stopped doing business with sanctioned Russian institutions.
